Politics in Cornwall

Politics and International Relations programmes in Cornwall are part of a world-class research institution. Our research-led teaching is characterised by staff expertise in a range of pressing contemporary political challenges offering you the chance to study global trends and challenges as well as the particular experiences of different countries and regions.

If you are learning about climate change, political theory or authoritarian rule you can be sure that your course content will be situated in broader debates about the problematic heritage of knowledge and power in the world today and the challenges and opportunities of working towards a just future for people and our planet. Our teaching will help you to connect political systems and theories to real world events and issues driving contemporary politics and policy, giving you unique skills valued by employers.

Our student community is diverse and thriving because we prioritise providing a supportive learning environment. This starts with the support you are given as you transition from school to university and continues throughout your bespoke learning experience through unrivalled commitment to excellence in teaching.

We also work closely with Politics colleagues on our other campuses.

"Our unique degrees attract brilliant students who really care about the world and their place in it. We have small cohorts here meaning staff and students build strong relationships and it’s a joy watching these brilliant people grow and shape our department."
