Dr Timothy Cooper (He/him)
Senior Lecturer
History at Penryn
I am a social and environmental historian of modern Britain. My scholarship explores the everyday, lived-experience of environmental change among modern Britons. I am also interested in folk or popular ideas of nature and environment, and their strained relationship with 'mainstream' environmental thought and politics. I have a particular interest in the those who, like myself, happen to live on the geographical 'edges' of the United Kingdom, and the particular light their experience shines on the wider dynamics of social change in British society. My research has made use of oral history, autobiography, and personal testimony, as well as archival sources, in pursuit of a 'people's history' of nature and the environment in modern Britain.
I am also on knowledge commons
