Dr Chitzi Ogbumgbada

Chitzi is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Exeter and a member of the Exeter Centre for Environmental Law. His research interests lie at the intersection of international environmental and energy law, focusing mainly on energy justice, ethics, law, and the global energy transition. His research primarily concerns how injustices produced or worsened by the energy transition can be resolved through the energy justice framework and the law. He is the principal investigator of a Society of Legal Scholars(SLS)-funded project on the current state of energy justice research and scholarship. He is also leading another SLS-funded project on the 'Law School and the Climate Crisis'. Before joining Exeter in 2024, he was a law lecturer at the University of Huddersfield and, at various times in the past, a law tutor at the University of Strathclyde and a visiting fellow at the Jersey Island Institute of Law.
