History at Penryn
I am an historian of modern Britain with a special focus on museums and public history. I am interested in how people relate to museums, and utilise their institutional resources to assist in building an understanding of the world around them. I work mainly in the areas of gender history, modern socio-cultural studies in memory and representation, and community engagement work.
I recently completed a project working in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, Government of New Brunswick (Canada) examining the impact of changes to collections management policy and ethics in a global (current and post-pandemic) context.
